Gloria Dei Church is seeking an organist for their 11am service. The organ is a large 3-manual Allen with a brand new MIDI Ensemble Tone. Responsibilities include: prelude, 4-5 hymns (with doxology) offertory, postlude and occasional accompanist duties. There is no mid-week commitment. We seek someone to play for 36 Sunday services a year plus 6 additional services (Thanksgiving Eve, 3 Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, and Good Friday) Pay is $200 per service. Spirited, active and unique congregation is seeking a well-rounded, versatile musician as organist and choir director, with a strong knowledge of Lutheran or Episcopal liturgy. Organ is a two manual baroque style tracker-pneumatic. One choir (including 2 paid soloists) rehearses Sunday mornings prior to worship. A variety of vocal and instrumental talent is available in the congregation. No regular weeknight obligations other than major festivals and holy days and the occasional planning committee meeting.  We are seeking a candidate who is able to lead us in worship through song and liturgy, introduce and teach new hymns and settings and participate in the spiritual life of the church. Established in 1902, Lutheran Settlement House (LSH) is a non-profit, community-based organization, committed to serving vulnerable children, adults, and families living in Philadelphia. LSH currently serves over 14,000 individuals annually through four major program areas: Bilingual Domestic Violence, Community Education and Employment, Senior Services, and Homeless Services. Position Summary:

Lutheran Settlement House is seeking a Director for its Jane Addams Place Emergency Homeless Shelter. Lutheran Settlement House/Jane Addams Place utilizes the Sanctuary® model of trauma-informed care to serve 29 homeless women and their children, providing comprehensive case management and a full range of services designed to help homeless families regain and sustain self-sufficiency. The Homeless Services Director is responsible for the operation of Jane Addams place: professional and technical leadership; implementation of policies and procedures; budget management; development activities; liaison with outside agencies including the City’s Office of Supportive Housing; and oversight of all aspects of the program. The Director is also part of Lutheran Settlement House’s agency-wide leadership team.

 Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in implementing the Sanctuary® model and have extensive experience leading housing and homelessness programs. A Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field is preferred, as well as the highest level of licensure provided for by the discipline. Five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in homeless services is preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. High energy level, strong sense of initiative, creative problem-solving, enthusiasm, and flexibility. Extensive supervisory experience is required.

 Part-time DCE (Director of Christian Education)

Christ Niantic is seeking a part-time Director of Christian Education, effective immediately, for a newly-created position. The working hours are expected to be about 10 - 12 hours per week on average, offering a competitive salary, two weeks paid vacation, and some Continuing Education expenses. The DCE is expected to oversee the planning and organization of all Christian Education activities within the church, reporting to the Pastor. The church has a Sunday School Superintendent, so the DCE does not need to be present every Sunday, although attendance at certain major events is required. Responsibility includes Bible Study for all ages, VBS. First Communion, some Confirmation planning, and the possibility of some youth work. Communication is very important.
