Volunteer and Donate to Support Local LDR

Lutheran Disaster Response –Eastern PA (LDR – EPA) has been working with our partners in the Southeast PA VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster), PA VOAD, and our contacts in Northeast PA, to help meet unmet needs in the wake of Hurricane Irene. Local LDR affiliates like LDR-EPA play a leadership role in many of the VOAD networks. In Southeastern PA, the VOAD network has already delivered 60 flood buckets to three municipalities in Montgomery County.
Here's how you can help:
Volunteer Teams
LDR-EPA is still gathering information about cleanout needs from county departments of emergency management. It takes time to assess these needs and set up systems for matching unmet needs with volunteer groups willing to serve. At this point, it is likely that volunteers will be needed regionally in Southeastern and Northeastern PA as well as in New Jersey.
In order to prepare for the call for volunteer assistance, congregations and individuals interested in volunteering should contact Linda Frey ( or 610-657-4730). By contacting us in advance, we can be prepared to schedule work teams quickly and efficiently as the opportunity arises. To expedite this process, download volunteer information, skills assessments and background check information on our website, www.lutherancongregationalservices.org
Flood Buckets
Congregations interested in providing flood buckets, please contact Julia Menzo ( or 215-424-3741 ext.203) about flood bucket drop off locations. The content list requirements are available here.
