The National Council of Churches urges congregations to plan now for the impact of the H1N1 and seasonal flu viruses. The council recommends that congregations take extra precautions to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in church programs and to plan for the cancellation of worship, nursery schools, day care and senior centers and other activities if local health officials call for limitations on public gatherings.
