Prayers for Conshohocken fire victims

St. Mark's, Conshohocken, has offered the use of an apartment as well as food and clothing assistance to help the 375 persons displaced by a major fire in the town last week. The church is one of many resources that residents are being directed to by Red Cross teams. For more information visit www.conshycares.org.

Pastor Dick Olson has prepared a prayer petition that you can use in your congregation:

O gracious God, we will never understand the sorrows of the world, but by your grace we will not turn away from them.  Bless and keep those victims of the Conshohocken fire that changed so many lives last week. Renew and sustain them amid the uncertainly of this time knowing that your presence brings peace.

Cheer and encourage those who labor to help the homeless, and those in despair. Use us good Lord to minister to those starting over allowing your love to flow through us to those whose lives need stability.  May those who have lost so much find their rest in you.  Unite us in prayer with all who look for help, and use us to come speedily to them with the resources that they need. We ask these things in your own most holy Name.  Amen.
