Lutherans gather at Capitol
Lutherans throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania gathered at the Capital Building in Harrisburg on April 9, 2008 to meet with local representatives and discuss current issues before the Pennsylvania Legislature. The keynote speaker this year at Lutheran Day at the Capital was Ralston Deffenbaugh, President of the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service.
Following a breakfast meeting with state representatives, the Honorable Bob Mensch, from Montgomery County, on the occasion of Lutheran Day at the Capital, presented the flag of the Commonwealth of PA, flown over the Capital Building on March 25 2008, to the Upper Perkiomen Child Care Center of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Red Hill. UPCCC is an early childhood educational and after-school ministry of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Red Hill serving 125 families of the Upper Perkiomen Valley in northern Montgomery County. The flag will fly near the main entrance of the congregation's child care center.
