July Youth of the Month: Katie Meyer

Katie Meyer is a wonderful role model for the youth of Redeemer-Jamison.  A find, enthusiastic and articulate confirmation participant and veteran, she is one of the church’s most enthusiastic Assisting Ministers and Acolytes.  She takes an active role in all parts of our worship service – reading lessons, prayers, assisting at communion, ushering, greeting and working with her mother as an integral part of our Altar Guild.  She is as happy to participate both behind the scenes and in the midst of the gathered assembly.

But her participation does not stop with worship: Katie helps as she is able with many diverse youth related and other activities.  When there is a job to be done with grace and joy, Katie is one of the people that the congregation looks to for help.  The constant and pleasant smile on her face reflects, I believe, the inner joy she feels in serving God in his church and in his world.  A black belt in judo, Katie uses her personality and her talents to reflect what it means to be a Christian person in this world.
