Book of Faith training June 6

Book of Faith Logo ImageGet an overview of the ELCA's new Book of Faith initiative and what it means for your church at a special training workshop on Saturday, June 6. The workshop will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room 301 of the Brossman Learning Center on the campus of the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia.

This workshop is for pastors, youth leaders, Christian education directors, adult and teen teachers and bible study leaders, and individuals seeking bible study leader training.

Participants will get an overview of the ELCA's Book of Faith initiative and what it means for their congregation.  The workshop will provide an understanding of what makes a good bible teacher and a number of keys to effective Bible study -- including four basic styles, core leadership approaches, and ways of getting new studies started.  The even will also offer a model for introducing the Book of Faith initiative in your congregation.

Workshop leaders are the Rev. John Kerr and the Rev. Leah Schade.  The cost is $15 per person for the workshop only, and $25 for the workshop and a copy of Opening the Book of Faith.  Checks should be payable to the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod, with BFI in the memo line.
