Lutherans from Upper Dublin Lutheran Church, Living Word Lutheran Church (Roslyn), Trinity Lutheran Church (Lansdale), and the synod office responded through LDR to meet the needs of flooding victims in Hatboro, Pa after heavy rains flooded a number of homes the weekend of August 1-2.

Thank you very much to volunteers and leadership from these congregations!

Needs are still outstanding for drywall supplies and property clean-up. Please contact Linda Frey at for more information.

LDR Resolution Passes as Churchwide Assembly

Adopted 929-20.  The assembly acknowledged this collaborative ministry of the ELCA and the LC-MS and acknowledged that a strategic planning process for LDR is underway.  It encouraged the ELCA "to continue to deepen and develop its process for working together with churchwide units, synods and social ministry organizations in times of specific disasters."  The assembly asked for a progress report to be presented to the Church Council in 2010, and amended the proposal to recommend creation of a permanent LDR advisory committee.
