Pastors trek 13,000 miles to fight hunger
Why would three 60-ish Lutheran pastors trek 13,000 miles in 100 days on a bamboo bicycle built for three? They’re on a “mission from God” to help bring an end to world hunger. The trio bring their “Tour de Revs 2009” to Philadelphia on Monday, June 8, from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Brossman Center at the Lutheran Theologial Seminary at Philadelphia. They will talk about their experiences, the unique bamboo-framed triplet bicycle (modeled after cycles built in Ghana that are helping lift people out of poverty), and their mission to raise awareness and $5 million for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s World Hunger Appeal.

Photos, video after the jump.
